As a fact, in the mid 1500’s
the term ‘white’ was reserved
for wealthy Caucasian English
women that avoided sunlight.
All cultures have status symbols.
In my travels I have observed
long fingernails on men say
“I am a leisure class member,
and don’t do menial tasks”,
Cultural communities display
class distinction with signs
that most citizens know.
Here we can certainly say the Brits
have not been given due credit,
for shaping American history.
