Bird Watchin’

One lazy summer day
I’m floating on the updraft
around time
for the barge to show up.

Down left rests Jonathan Gull
worn thin from flights
to far away places
with strange sounding names.

Closing from the right
race three big fish
mouths open wide for lunch
bobbing in the distance.

One dreamy steamy day
a gull is gulped
two fish go hungry
the trash boat appears.
