Smile! What’s the use of crying? Though your heart is aching and breaking, just keep smiling and maybe the sun will come shining through. When there are clouds in the sky, you’ll get by if you smile. Light up the gladness. Hide the sadness. Although a tear may be ever so near, that’s the time you must keep on trying.  Smile, what’s the use of crying?

I say hooey to that. What do you get with all sun and no rain? A dry earth! Picture that.  There are a whole lot of folks on the planet these days who’d love to see a cloud in the sky, and they’re not all in Africa. There are many others shedding tears over the deaths of their loved ones. Wouldn’t it be weird to see relatives of the war dead   smiling at you   out of your  big screen?

Pearls are a treasured byproduct of irritation and discomfort, and ours are shaped by more than smiles. I say be where you need to, when the time is ripe for you.
